• World Language Study Skills

    1.

    Treat world language as a skill to learn like basketball, or playing a musical instrument.
    CONSTANT PRACTICE IS NECESSARY.
    CONSTANT REVIEW IS NECESSARY.

    2.

    Stay ALERT.
    Concentrate on what your teacher and classmates are saying.
    Stay tuned in even though you might not understand all, or any of what is said.

    3.

    Involve your EARS; You must hear before you can respond.

    4.

    Practice Spanish, study Spanish, speak Spanish WITH FRIENDS,
    and speak Spanish with native speakers every time you get a chance!
    Constant REPETITION of new words and phrases is necessary during class, and out of class.

    5.

    Use your study time well for:
    Written assignments
    Grammar assignments
    Reading assignments
    Vocabulary study


    Read assignments aloud to yourself.
    Break up long assignments.
    Have homework prepared for each day at the beginning of class.

    6.

    Do careful copying, including accents and markings where needed.

    7.

    KEEP A GOOD NOTEBOOK, with only Spanish notes in it!
