Mrs. Tucker
I graduated from Fillmore Central School in 2002 and earned my BA in English from Keuka College in 2006. I returned to the Fillmore area in 2010. In December of 2019 I earned my Masters of Arts in Teaching, and in January of 2020 I began teaching at Fillmore. I love writing and I love reading and I can't wait to share those things with students. I'm grateful to be back at Fillmore and to teach in a school where I myself learned so much. Use the tabs on the side to learn more about the classes I teach: English 11, English 10, English 9 12:1:1, and Games and Literature.

In English 10 we focus on reading diverse voices across a variety of genres. We also begin to explore our own creative output. We begin making connections between literature and philosophy, and continue to learn about the intersection of literature and history. See the English 10 syllabus for more details about this course.

*This elective is brand-new and may not always be available.*
Students learn about the elements of literature through fantasy and science-fiction novels, short-stories, and poems. We will also be drawing on the concepts found in many video games and table-top character-based adventure games, such as character development, plot structure, symbolism, and theme. Students will create their own stories with the elements of literature as their own created character moves through an original plotline, overcoming obstacles and completing tasks.
