Red Cross Babysitting Course video (Please keep in mind this is a video for the Red Cross on-line course, but it covers the same info and is a great intro)
Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,
Fillmore Central School is no longer affiliated with the American Red Cross Babysitter's Training course. The course got to be too expensive for the school to bear the cost. We still, however, offer a babysitting course in school as part of the Family and Consumer Science curriculum. If you would like to get certified you can attend an on-line course or contact the Red Cross in Wellsville to see if they are still offering an in person course.
This course includes the information and skills necessary to give students safe and responsible care for children and infants. This training will help students develop leadership skills; learn how to develop a babysitting business, keep themselves and others safe and help children behave; and learn about basic child care and first aid.
Successful course completion requires participation in all classroom activities and skill sessions.
Students will take home a Real Care Baby from Reality Works. More information will be sent home closer to the project date.
If you have any questions, please contact Amy Chiu at FCS at 585-567-2251.
