Hey there! My name is Mrs. Behen (pronounced “bain”) and I am thrilled to be one of your child's first grade teachers this year! I want to take a moment to introduce myself and share a bit about my background and what you can expect from our classroom this year.

I grew up on a small farm in Virginia, where I spent my days outdoors, surrounded by animals and nature. After graduating from Longwood University, I gained valuable experience teaching in suburban and city schools before making the move here. This year marks my seventh year in teaching, and I couldn’t be more excited about this upcoming school year!

At home, I enjoy life with my husband, our son James, our dog Logan, and our cat Penny. In my free time, I love to get outside and camp, hike, kayak, or garden. I also have a passion for creating, whether that’s through painting, pottery, crafting, or photography.
