Raising Strong, Healthy Babies - Tummy Time

This series is for you exhausted parents of newborns out there…do you want to make sure that your baby grows up strong and healthy? Here is one helpful tip:

  • Tummy Time: Allow your baby to play on his/her tummy (while awake & supervised) as soon as he/she comes home from the hospital.
    • How Often? Start with just three to five minutes after a nap or diaper change, 2 to 3 times a day. Slowly increase how many times a day, and/ or for longer periods of time. You can even put baby toys within his or her reach.
    • Why? To build strength needed for sitting up, rolling over, crawling and walking
