• Grading Policy:

40% Class activities & projects. Students are expected to show competency through completion of multi-faceted projects. Activities are completed during class and help to reinforce concepts that are taught. These include (but are not limited to) Nature Journal entries, labs, small projects, longer multi-day projects, remote/virtual learning work, reflections, etc.

40% Portfolio. Students are expected to create and maintain a virtual portfolio. The portfolio should include documentation of the various class activities and projects. This is an opportunity for students to present/highlight what they have accomplished and learned throughout the course. Students should update portfolios daily for participation credit (they are checked weekly). A more thorough look at the portfolio via oral presentations will be graded for the Mid-term & Final. This is an opportunity for creativity to shine!

20% Participation. Students’ willingness to interact during discussion, contribute to a positive class community, and display respectful behaviors. This includes weekly Portfolio checks. If you didn't document it, did it even happen?
